Juanita had been studying song and dance, performing
in Eisteddfod Comps, for 7 years when she joined the
team. She had learnt tap, jazz, classical & National
Dance and was particularly fond of and gifted at
Latin/American/Flamenco style. She enjoyed touring
and working to a live audience the most, especially
her trip to USA working at Universal Studios.
When YTT finished, Juanita worked with a professional
cover band at age 15 and then formed her own
band "Milk" writing original songs whilst
continuing her schooling.
Juanita had dearly wanted to be an exchange student
in Italy but her parents were not too keen on her
being so far away.
Tragically, Juanita was killed in a car accident
on 2 May, 1993 at the age of 17. In the weeks before
her death she had expressed a strong wish to have her
organs donated and that wish was fulfilled.

Her school presents an annual "Juanita Coco
Inspirational Award" at its school play and
the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance
also present an award in her memory at the
Eisteddfods.
