Katie Van Ree joined YTT at age 11. The producers
initially wanted another boy in the team but in the
audition process, Katie was discovered and she was
offered a place in the team. Her first song as a
team member was "Christopher Robin".
Katrina (her full name) recalls her most enjoyable
moments to be when they were on tour, and being just
regular kids, knick-knocking on penthouse suite doors
and breaking into hotel pools after hours!
When she left YTT at age 16 she was quite content to
blend back into the real world, completed school and
started a career in advertising.
When asked if she still had any YTT memorabilia
she replied, "No, but I have spotted ravers
wearing the tour t-shirts out at dance parties".
When asked if she would do it all again, her
response was jokingly, "What? Perm
my hair, NO WAY".
